Tarkarli BeachThe beautiful beach in Tarkarli is the pride of Maharashtra. The seabed, lined up with casuarinas and hides it from the messy town and cities, thereby defining it as the place of tranquility. Further, the imposing Sindhudurg fort, situated on the Kurte Island, seems like a battleship and indicates the era of Great Ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji.

Further down is the Sarjekot Island and the Rock Garden, which complements the azure sea and the sky. An ultimate joy lies in cruising down the backwaters of the Karli River from Deobaug and appreciating the swaying palm grooves on both sides. Keen observers can watch the school of little fish, which slides away as the motion of the colourful fishermen boats. With having breath-taking glimpse of the gliding Dolphins, visitors can pave way to the Bhogwe Beach. Forts
The northernmost part of Malvan is known for the splendid beauty of the Sarjekot Fort. It was built by Great Maratha Emperor Shivaji in 1668 and depicts the political saga of bygone eras. Padmagad, set on the nearby island, was once the shipbuilding base of Shivaji's navy.

How to reach Tarkarli
By Air
Dabolim, situated 100 kms from Tarkarli in Goa is the nearest airport. On reaching the airport, visitors can hire the available taxis and explore the beach.

By Rail
The nearest railhead to Tarkarli is at Kudal(35 kms). It is connected to Mumbai by the Konkan Kanya Express, Shatabdi and Mandovi Express. Autos and private cars are available outside the station, which aid visitors reach the desired places in Tarkarli.

By Road
NH17 connects Mumbai to Kasal, 15 kms after Kankavli. Following this turn to SH118 to Malvan and further down the Malvan Coast, which is only 7 kms from Tarkarli. Regular State Transport buses ply to Malvan Bus Stand from Mumbai Central, but the private deluxe coaches do not ply directly to Tarkarli. They leave from Dadar and stop at Kudal, the closet stop to Tarkarli.
