Ganapatipule BeachThe beautiful beach at Ganapatipuli is a revelation. The silent sea-beach offers the change in color according to the time of day and catches the best time when the golden sky frames it into gold. The spectacular sea can be viewed properly from hillocks behind the divine Swayambhu Ganapati Temple here.

The clear sea under the great blue sky contributes a lot in making Ganapatipule, one of the tourist hot spot. The beach is quiet and clean and welcomes visitors to make a holy visit to Swayambhu Ganapati Temple, situated to its left. The shrine carries the legend of Lord Ganesha and is manifested on a hillock by the beach. Thousand of pilgrims come to Ganapatipule, particularly during evening hours when the sun rays falls directly on the idol. They believe to witness this miracle of the sun worshiping Lord Ganapati.

After completing the holy walk, visitors can proceed towards the Malgund village, situated on the road to Jaigarh. This old village has the attraction of an open-air museum Prachin Kokan and the memorial to the Marathi poet, Krishnaji Keshav Damle. Further the village also has a beautiful Gaieadi beach, which is home to large flocks of migratory birds. The place is a must-visit center during winter season.

Although the beaches in Ganapatipule do not provide the adventure of water-sports, enthusiasts can connect Konkan Tourism Development Research Center, situated in Malgund. This private agency offers the adventure of parasailing and about 50 thrilling rides in a day.

Ganapatipule beach shopping
Ganapatipule is known for its horticultural production. Shoppers can either take back raw or processed. A visit during the month of April to May offers the opportunity to buy the famous Alphonso mangoes. Tinned mango pulp, bottled kokum, syrup, amla squash, sun-dried layers of mango, jamun and jackfruit are also available at a number of shops. Handicrafts lovers can also pick up some from the Prachin Kokan Museum in Malgund.

Eating at Ganapatipule
Unlike the elite staying options, the food-stalls in Ganapatipule are very few and most of them serves only the vegetarian cuisines. The eateries lie just a short walk away from the MTDC Resort. Bahu Joshi's and Shivanandan restaurant under Hotel Durvankur's serves the excellent mango drink, His baingan masala and delicious dessert at affordable rate.

Jaigarh
Just a 20 kms drive to the north of Ganapatipule offers an exciting excursion to Jaigarh. This finest place holds the 17th century Jaigarh Fort, which overlooks the sea and the Shastri River that flows into the sea here. After exploring the fort's walls and listening the historical naunces relating the Sultan of Bijapur, visitors can take turn towards the Karhateshwar Temple. The holy shrine is made of wood and is a few century old. It is fringed with palm groves and visitors with standing on the premises, can have an overview of the sea.

Photographers can take mock shots, with having space at the large boats and small ships, passing below on the way to the Jaigarh Jetty. They can also peep into the rural life of the fishing village, situated next to the jetty.

By Air
Dabolim Airport, situated 286 kms in Goa is connected to all Indian metro cities by all major airlines. Visitors can hire the pre-paid non AC Taxis to Ganapatipule from the airport premises.

By Rail
The nearest railhead to Ganapatipule is positioned in Ratnagiri(45 kms). This major stop on the Konkan Railway aid visitors reach the beach.

By Road
Direct State Transport buses and luxury coaches ply between Ratnagiri and Mumbai. The bus fare is affordable and travelers can have an easy journey ahead.
