Bordi Beach Bordi beach is situated on the northernmost outpost of Maharashtra is known for the gentle sea breeze, which nourishes the Chikoo grooves to a great extent. Bordi Beach in Maharashtra is far way from the cacophony of the big cities and towns. Visitors can do many thing with or without moving their limbs. They can soak in the sun, take in the sea breeze and also, feast their eyes with the scenic sea. The beach stretches about 17 kms and beach walkers can take a lengthy laze under the casuarinas or out in the sun. While doing so, visitors can trace the chickoo orchards in Gholvad, thereafter, following a walk in the Bordi village, where the old houses with tiled roofs and shaded verandas can be easily encountered.

Just a 3 kms travel from the Bordi beach will aid visitors reach the Zai, the northernmost village on Maharashtra's coast. They will find small fishing boats on the sea all the way from Dahanu to Bordi and can also have a glimpse of the fisher folks's lives, dotted everywhere.

After having seen the gentle tides to the beach, the trip continuous with visiting Asvail Dam, situated 6 kms east of Bordi. The place is so beautiful that though photography is prohibited, nobody comes away without clicking a picture or two. The green lake, formed behind the 1, 160-foot long dam is a must-see one in the area. It is free of guards and is highly looked at as a fine picnic spot.

The areas in and around Bordi beach is famous for the plantation of Chikoo and as such the roadside shops are availed with the products made of it. One must-visit shop is the Mahila Grihaudyog, located near the MTDC, which sells home-made chips, pickles, chikki and powder made of dried Chikku. Shoppers can also fill their kitty with khajur chocolate, dry fruits and gooseberry candy.

Eating at Bordi
Bordi Beach may not lure foodoholics to a great extent. The culinary excellence can be experienced on MTDC's Darya Restaurant, which serves the seafoods and chilly beer. However, visitors can relish the vegetarian Gujarati Thalis in Anand Resort and Parsi delicacies in Goolkhush. In the evening the road-side stalls sells pani-puri, dahi-puri, bhel-puri and even pizza, which are made to tinkle the taste-bud of the visitors.

Dahanu
In comparison to the beautiful Bordi beach, the Narpad Beach in Dahanu is least appreciated. The place is situated 24 kms from Bordi and is highly known for a number of hotels like the Pearline Beach Resort, Hotel Seawoods, Beachside, Kohli-da-dhaba etc. Besides, tourist visiting the place makes a wonderful trip with having horse-ride and sipping nariyal pani on the beach side.

Also, a number of express trains like the Paschim Express departs from Delhi and halt at the big train station at Dahanu, thereby aiding visitors to reach the place in time.

By Road
