Thalassery BeachThalassery, a port town in Kerala beholds the beach-lover's delight in the form of gentle rolling waves, which let visitors lose the track of time. The town is known for its long back history connecting the British East India Company and is also dotted with a number of tourist attraction. The scenic Muzhippilangad Beach, Dharmadam Island, Thalassery Fort are a few to name. The place boast of the biggest cinnamon plantation, called the Anjarakandy Cinnamon Estate.

Muzhippilangad Beach
This is the only beach in India, which offers a drive along the beach, starting from Ezhikkad in the north to Dharmapattanam, in the south. Visitors can enjoy the unique scene of water birds that are intent on prying open the mussels on the beach. A morning trip to the beach presents a glimpse of dolphins playing with waters, while evening offers the glorious sunset views. On the southern side near Dharampattanam, visitors can stop for a while and watch local fishermen return with their catch.

The Adventure Academy, located at Ezhikkad towards the north of Muzhippilangad organized 'Adventure Carnivals', in the low tide period i.e the days between April to June. The event consists of activities such as swimming, night camping expeditions, that features tent and campfire on Dharmadam Island. Besides, the Academy offers boat trips, all through out the year.

Dharamdam Island
Also known as Pachha Turuth, this 5-acre wide Island is blessed with thick vegetations. The place has an ancient Buddhist image and therefore has great religious significance. It is located 4km north of Thalassery and visitors need to seek special permission to access the island.

Thalassery Fort
Set up by the British in 1708, the Thalassery Fort is an imposing monument with walls and turrets. It houses a modest gallery, where pictures of other ASI-protected monuments and sites are displayed. With following the entry time, visitors can have nice time over here.

Odathill Palli
Situated about half a kilometer from the Thalassery Fort, the imposing Odathil Palli is among the major attractions in Kerala. This mosque was built by an Arab trader following a fusion of Hindu-Muslim architectural style. The mosque is 500 years old and has neither domes nor minarets. The main focus is its copper ceiling and walls, built in fine carvings.

Gunder's Bungalow
Situated close to Thalassery, at IIIikunnu, this colonial-style Bungalow also falls under tourist sightseeing circuit. The home is where, the famous German scholar and lexicographer Rev Dr. Hermann Gundert, spend 20 years of his life.

Dances with weapons
A trip to Chelattom Veedu, Thiruvangad, situated about 1 km from Thalassery is full of excitement. The CVN Kalari here is popular for training centers of martial art. Visitors can try out some steps and cure their fractures and blood circulation problems.

Mahe Beach
The charming part of the Union Territory of Pondicherry is situated 6 km south of Thalassery and visitors can easily explore its distinctive ambience. The superb sea-view and the beach is an ideal place for relaxation. The Tagore Park with French influence and St Teresa's Church, built in 1736 is the major beach-side attractions. Pilgrims from all over Kerala visit the place, particularly during the month of October, when the church administration organizes an annual feast programme.

Malayala Kalagramam
Dedicated to the cultural heritage of Malabar, Malayala Kalagramam is a cultural and fine arts center, situated at New Mahe. It offers courses on a range of arts and disciplines such as yoga and meditation.
Anjarakandy Cinnamon Estate
This biggest Cinnamon Plantation in Asia was established by the British East India Company in 1798. It is situated 15 km south-east of Thalassery and is connected to the town by regular interval of buses.
Shopping at Thalassery
Shoppers may find a little delight in haunting Thalassery. The shopping outlet offers the black paper corn and good quality cashew and cotton weaves, available affordable price.
Eating at Thalassery
Thalasser beach town is famous fro its banana halwa. The sweet dishes is available in most of the condiment shops. Crispy banana chips, Musseland stuffed Pathiri(a kind of Indian bread)are some local delicacies. Briyani and sea-food preparation in traditional Malabar style are also must-try. Foodholics can relish at the delicious cuisines at Paris Presidency, Shahara Plaza and Razeena Beach Resort.
