Kanyakumari,
a famed religious destination, is situated in the southernmost tip of India.

Located on the beach, this divine shrine is dedicated to Devi Kanyakumari. The image of Devi is carved out of blue stone and devotees believe that the temple has the natural foot-print of the Devi herself.
Baywatch Water Park
A 2km walk from Kanyakumari beach on the Kovalam Road offers the memorable moment in the land of Baywatch Water Park. The park is provided with a number of land and water rides like slides, roller coasters, artificial waterfalls and wave pools. Visitors can also relish themselves with the snacks and cold-drinks, available in the two restaurants, inside.
Vivekananda Rock
This nearby rocky outcrop can be reached by a government-run ferry. The spot is said to be the meditation chamber of Swami Vivekananda in 1892. Later, in 1970 a memorial and temple with his statue was built so as to spread out his philosophical message among his disciples.
Valluvar Memorial
Situated close to the Vivekananda rock is the Valluvar Memorial. It holds the 133-foot statue of Saint Thiruvalluvar(the author of the Thirukkural couplets), the 38-foot tall pedestal which represents 'Virtue'and the 95-foot statue which represents 'Wealth' and 'Love'.
Kanyakumari Beach Shopping
As such, Kanyakumari is not developed with shopping areas. Yet compulsive shoppers can collect sea-shells, starfish and corals from the beach-side shops. A few stalls sell Kashmiri shawls and clothes sequined in Kutch mirror work, which make a good buy. Devotees can collect the mementos of Swami Vivekanada from the ashram, itself.

Circular Fort, built by De Lannoy, a Dutchman, for his Travancore King
Marthanda Varma. The fort garden holds the pleasant scenery of sea, sky and
palm groves, which offers the natural beach atmosphere to the visitors.
SuchindramKnown as the antique temple, Suchindram is situated 13 kms North West of Kanyakumari. The architecture of the temple depicts the Travancore province and date backs its origin, sometime, between 9th and 10th century. The interior portion of the temple complex shimmers with lingam, which represents the powerful Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva and devotees name the temple as 'Sthanumaalayan'. Besides the 22-foot monolithic Hanuman Statue, the huge Nandi image, made of mortar and seashell lime and the 18-feet high musical pillar makes a worthy watch.
Udayagiri Fort
This historic fort was built in 18th century by King Marthanda Varma as an honor to his faithful Dutch General De Lannoy. It is located 30 kms north-west of Kanyakumari beach in Tamil Nadu. Padmanabhapuram Palace
Padmanabhapuram, located 35 kms north-west of Kanyakumari, was once the capital of Travancore. The palace complex here has 14 magnificent palace, all of which are built in Kerala style of architecture. The complex spreads around 6 acres of land and holds a museum which displays the ancient sculptures, weapons and royal edicts.
